Former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard, who was appointed as the manager of the Saudi club Al-Ettifaq, had to remind his players that there is still a long season to go as they were celebrating after registering two wins in a row.

Gerrard has enjoyed an unbeaten start to his managerial career in the Middle East with a win over Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr and Al-Hazm.

Al-Ettifaq registered their first victory of the new season with goals from Robin Quaison and the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Dembele in the second half. Ronaldo did not feature for Al-Nassr.

Meanwhile, on Friday, Gerrard's men enjoyed a comfortable 2-0 victory over Al-Hazm.

Gerrard walked into the dressing room and watched his players celebrating and enjoying two consecutive wins. For someone who has enjoyed great success at Liverpool, winning two games would count for nothing, so he held up two fingers and say, "It's only two games!".

However, the players kept on celebrating forcing the Liverpool legend to dance a little bit to join the celebrations.

Jorden Henderson, Gerrard's former teammate at the Merseyside club joined him in the middle-east and featured in their win over Al-Nassr in their league opener.

Henderson talked about the reason he came to the Gulf country and also gave insight into his future with the English national team

"Stevie was a big reason obviously why I came. To work with him and play under him," the footballer said before being asked about his chances of playing for England in the future.

"I'm focused on playing for Ettifaq and playing my best. If I'm doing that then there's no reason why I can't play for England, as the gaffer said," the midfielder continued.

"Obviously we spoke over the last few weeks about it because playing for England means a lot to me and I feel as though I can still bring a lot to the team as I have in the last few games in the World Cup.

"So I still feel as though I can bring a lot. But at the same time I've got to do my job here and if I can do that then hopefully I can make the team as normal."
